Thirty-Six New Views of Mount Fuji
The artist is committed to using his art to raise awareness but also to donating part of the sales to worthwhile causes. He donates to Refugees International Japan and various other charitable organizations.
At the world premiere exhibition of the prints at the British Ambassador’s residence in Tokyo, 3.5 million yen (almost US$44,000) was raised for charity, and 100% was donated to programs to support Tohoku programs through the British Chamber of Commerce.
At an event at the Irish ambassador’s residence in Tokyo in July 2012 500,000 yen was raised, of which 100% was donated to charity through the sponsor of the 36 Views exhibition, Unilever Japan.
